Camping at Potawatomi State Park in Door County, Wisconsin
Potawatomi State Park is located in Door County, near Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. This is considered a primitive campground, but does have modern bathrooms with showers. (However, if you are used to South Dakota campgrounds, like I am, you will realize how spoiled we are with nice bathrooms at our campgrounds).

For this trip, I was traveling solo and planned to camp in my SUV. I booked myself a site and spent some time getting my SUV setup in order for me to do this comfortably. I created a YouTube video of my setup that you can view here.
The sites are nicely spaced apart - not too far, but not too close. I had site #60 which located close to the water and not too far from the bathrooms, although I did end up driving many of the times because it was a bit chilly while I was there. The cost was $20 per night, plus a $7.75 reservation fee and the cost to get into the Wisconsin State Parks. The site that I had did not have any electrical hook-ups. So be sure to keep that in mind if that is something you are needing. My campsite had a picnic table and fire pit for use, as well!

The spaces can be somewhat tricky to get into, as the roads are tight and there are ALOT of trees. My husband didn't like dragging his boat through the campground because of this, so I often met him elsewhere when he was off the water. However, with all of those trees, means that it is an extremely shaded campground which is great for keeping your vehicle, tent or camper cool in the summers. The campground also has a boat ramp - and the main roads are no problem to drive your truck with boat - and hiking trails, while also being within minutes of the city of Sturgeon Bay should you want to go into town!

Door County in Wisconsin is also a highly visited area during various times of the year, and it's easy to see why, with all the cherry trees, lighthouses, and state parks! There are so many unique places to see and visit. I highly recommend taking a long weekend trip, like I did!
